In Paris, Katie Ledecky cemented her place as the most decorated female athlete in U.S. Olympic history by winning her 14th Olympic medal. Ledecky has been a dominant force in the pool for Team USA since she won her first gold medal at age 15 in 2012. Since then, she has broken six world records and become one of the most dominant swimmers in the sport. Is Mijain Lopez the Greatest Olympian of All Time?
In Paris, Mijain Lopez became the first Olympian to win gold in the same event in five straight Olympic Games. Lopez, who represents Cuba in the Greco-Roman 130kg wrestling class, began his path to dominance in 2008. Nada Hafez: A Mom-to-Be Competes in the Olympics!
It’s hard enough to make an Olympic team. There are countless hours of training, physical and mental stress, and healthy eating required to be at the top of your game. Now imagine doing all of this while pregnant! Egyptian fencer Nada Hafez competed in the 2024 games while seven months pregnant! The Road to Gold: From Harvard Rower to Olympic Cyclist
Most retired college athletes pick up a hobby after playing their sport. They find ways to stay active, whether it’s pickleball, golf, or running. When Kristen Faulkner graduated from Harvard, the former rower decided to try her hand at cycling. So, She took an introductory cycling class while living in NYC in 2017. Little did she know, this new hobby would lead her to the 2024 Paris Olympics for Team USA.
