A Mobile Moment: Jack Bech Honors Late Brother with Senior Bowl Performance
“Jack Bech has his Mobile moment.” These words rang out from the play-by-play booth just moments after Bech caught the game-sealing touchdown at the 2025 Senior Bowl. Everyone who played in and watched the game felt the significance of the moment. Bech made his winning grab just a month after the tragic loss of his brother, former Princeton wide receiver Martin “Tiger” Bech, who died in a terrorist attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day. On a day when all players wore a No. 7 decal on their helmets to honor Tiger, Jack Bech didn’t just secure the victory—he did so while wearing his brother’s number, 7, on his jersey.
The Bech Brothers
Football ran in the Bech family. Two of their uncles played football at LSU, so it is not surprising that both Tiger and Jack were studs on the gridiron. Tiger was an all-state player for St. Thomas More Catholic High School, ranking second in school history in both single-season receptions and all-purpose yards. At Princeton, he was a two-time All-Ivy League return man who helped the Tigers make history in 2018 when the team had its first undefeated season since 1964. Jack followed in his brother’s footsteps, excelling in high school and becoming a four-star recruit, ranked among the top ten players in Louisiana. After two seasons at LSU, he transferred to TCU, where he had a breakout 2024 season, becoming just the fifth player in program history to reach 1,000 yards in a season.
The Senior Bowl
Every year, the best college players in the country are invited to the Senior Bowl to showcase their skills in an all-star game-like atmosphere in front of NFL coaches and scouts. The game is the last major opportunity for a player to build their resume before the NFL Combine. Jack Bech shined in the Senior Bowl, leading the American team with 6 catches for 68 yards and a touchdown, earning MVP honors.

“Man, it’s simple: My brother has some wings on me,” Bech told reporters after the game. “He gave them to me, and he let that all take place. My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Tiger. Nothing else but them. They’re the reason I did what I did today. I attribute it all to them.”
Impact
Following the attack on New Year’s Day, friends and supporters set up a GoFundMe for Ryan Quigley, Bech’s teammate and best friend, who was with Jack and sustained severe injuries. The GoFundMe helps cover Quigley’s medical expenses and recovery. If you would like more information, click here.
