The Resurgence of Michael Lindauer: From Graduate Assistant to Record-Breaking QB
Michael Lindauer’s college football journey is pure perseverance. The Evansville, Indiana native began his career at Cincinnati before transferring to Southern Illinois. After appearing in just one game, due to several injuries, over five seasons, he retired in 2024 to join SIU’s staff as a graduate assistant—until injuries in the QB room forced him back into uniform.
In his first and only career start on Senior Day, Michael Lindauer authored a storybook finale: 283 yards, a school-record 7 touchdown passes, and a 62–0 win over Murray State, earning MVFC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Now, back on the coaching staff, he’s helping shape the next generation of Salukis.
